Visit Us at Heritage Day on Saturday, October 5
Plans are well underway for the North Brunswick 37th Annual Heritage Day, which will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at the North Brunswick Community Park on Route 130 South, near the Renaissance Shopping Plaza. In case of bad weather, a rain date of Sunday, October 6th has been scheduled. The event is designed to celebrate North Brunswick’s history and the rich heritage of the people who live there.
Andrew Zastko, broker-owner of Gloria Zastko, Realtors, has been involved with Heritage Day for the past 29 years, and has had the privilege of chairing this township-wide event for the past 21 years. Zastko is a lifetime resident of North Brunswick, who believes in giving back to the community. Zastko states, “I want to give recognition to all committee members who work on a voluntary basis throughout the year, and of course, on the day of the event, and to the Township workers who volunteer their time and efforts.”
Zastko invites everyone to join in a day of fun where we become one to celebrate our heritage. With something for everyone, this year’s event features the music of local bands, dancing, food, beer garden, rides, crafters, petting zoo, horse and buggy rides, and more. The bands who will take the stage include Tempo Alegre, Jammin Steel and Oktoberfest. There will be a dance floor at the front of the stage. It promises to be a fun-filled day.
The evening festivities will start off with The Ann Marie Chandlee Heritage Day Award ceremony being held at 7 p.m. This year’s recipient is Laura Pelszynski. The ceremony will be followed by Parkway Soul as they get the crowd on its feet to the sounds of Motown and R&B. A fireworks display will cap off the evening.
Gloria Zastko, Realtors asks you to follow their yellow balloons to the big white tent and enjoy a free horse and buggy ride where Gloria Zastko, Realtors’ staff members will be assisting visitors, as they have been for the past 29 years. The firm will also be giving away their very popular reusable yellow tote bags, smartphone wallets and other giveaways. This is one of the many ways it endeavors to give back to the communities it serves.
