GLORIA ZASTKO, REALTORS SPONSORS ITS 21st HERITAGE DAY BOOTH ON SATURDAY, SEPT. 24TH IN NORTH BRUNSWICK.

Plans are well underway for the North Brunswick 29th Annual Heritage Day, which will take place on Saturday, September 24, 2011 from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Babbage Park in North Brunswick.  In case of bad weather a rain date of September 25th has been scheduled.  The event is designed to celebrate North Brunswick’s history and the rich heritage of the people who live there.

Andrew Zastko, co-owner of Gloria Zastko, Realtors, has been involved with Heritage Day for the past 21 years, and has had the privilege of chairing this township-wide event for the past 13 years.  Zastko invites “everyone to join for a day of fun where we become one to celebrate our heritage.”   Zastko is a lifetime resident of North Brunswick, who believes “in giving back to the community.”  Zastko states, “I want to give recognition to all committee members who work on a voluntary basis throughout the year, and of course, on the day of the event, and to the Township workers who volunteer their time and efforts.”

Zastko states, “There is something for everyone.”  This year’s event features food from C&G Steak & Sausage, Harvest Specialty Deli, North Brunswick American Legion Post 459, Maria Tasty Ice Cream, Maglione’s Italian Ice, Dominos Pizza, and many more food vendors. Visitors can enjoy music from Ramblin Dawgs, Mariachi Loco, and children’s performer, Mr. Ray. Ethnic dance troops will grace the stage while face painting, Timbo the Clown, a unicycle and juggling show, pony rides, petting zoo, and carriage rides entertain the crowd.

The day culminates with an evening performance by The VooDUDES and a Fireworks display at the North Brunswick Township High School Stadium beginning at 7:00 p.m.    The event is made possible by grant funding from the Middlesex County Cultural and Heritage Commission and The Township of North Brunswick.  Spaces are still available for crafters, food vendors, business vendors, local organizations and those wishing to sell typical yard sale items in the flea market section.    For more information or to obtain a vendor application, please call the Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Services at (732) 247-0922 ext. 475 or visit www.northbrunswickonline.com.

Gloria Zastko, Realtors’ staff members will be assisting visitors with free horse and buggy rides, as they have been for the past 21 years since the agency was established.   The firm will be giving away their very popular yellow “Go Green” bags and other paraphernalia.  It promises to be a fun-filled day.  Gloria Zastko, Realtors ask you to follow their yellow balloons to the big white tent and enjoy a free horse and buggy ride…a return to tradition.
